Mom Hacks

I have a few things I've figured out since becoming a mom that has made things a little easier for me! Some I've shared before in other posts and some I have not yet. Here are a few mom hacks I do daily!

Laundry:

I have struggled with laundry wayyyy before I became a mom. Piles would get out of control, and I would dry and leave in dryer and it would sit there for days. Oh and not to mention the rewashing the same load 3 days in a load because I forgot about it and it sat in the wash over night. I know I am not the only one guilty of this. I needed to think of another game plan with laundry because obviously what I was doing, was not working.

Here me out, one load a day. Seriously, that's it. One a day. And honestly I don't even do one a day every day, I do one a day maybe 4-5 times a week and weekends are off limits! I placed a week whiteboard calendar in the laundry room and put in what load was going to be done that day. I filled out the calendar on Sunday. I wake up in the morning and whatever load is to be done that day, I put it in the wash. Then afternoonish time, I switch it to the dryer. Then after the girls go to sleep, I fold the clothes and put the load away. If the load of the day are the girls clothes, I keep the folded clothes right outside their bedroom door and then the next morning when I get them up, I put their clothes away quickly. I started this

This routine has been a game changer. For the first time ever, I feel like laundry is managed and I do not feel like I am spending an entire day or weekend doing load after load. It is so simple! Oh and when I finish the load that day, I erase it from the whiteboard! It gives me a sense of accomplishment! I linked the whiteboard at the bottom of this blog post.

Whisper Voice:

I watched a video of a day explaining what he does when his teenage daughter ignores him when he asks her to do something. He said he gets close to her and whispers to her. Ever since he started whispering to her, she started to listen. So I figured I would try this on my 2 and 1 year old daughters. My reason for wanting to try this is because recently my 1 year old has decided that yelling at me is the only way to get my attention. So now, when she yells at me, I get down close to her and I start to talk in a whisper voice. It is coolest thing, she goes from screaming to whispering with me. Instantly you can see her face starting to relax and she calms down. IT IS AMAZING!!! I cannot believe I have not done this sooner! So thank you to the Dad that shared this, because it worked with my 1 year old. My two year old does well with it too. She thinks it is a game. The main reason why I started it was because of my one year old, but it benefits my two year old too!

Meal Planning:

I've shared this before, and I am going to share it again because it has made things so much easier for me! I meal plan for dinner a month in advance. At the end of the month, I plan for the next month. I repeat a lot of meals from the previous month but also try to do at least one new recipe each month or one I have not done in a while. It makes dinner so much easier and grocery shopping so much easier too! I look at what I planned for dinner every Sunday, and I order a delivery Walmart grocery order to be delivered to my door the next morning. I put on the order what we need for dinner that week and of course anything else we need. Just makes grocery shopping more focused. I do not plan on weekends. Usually on weekends we do takeout or make something simple from what we have in the pantry and freezer. Weekends have been so busy, there's just no reason to meal plan. Fridays are always Pizza night too. We mix it up between ordering Pizza, frozen Pizza, or make our own Pizza. I'll link the Calendar I use to meal plan at the end of this blog.

Car Storage:

I have a basket in the car designated to each girl. In the basket I have extra diapers, swimmies, socks, shoes, hats, jackets, toys, books, etc. This has helped when I would forget something at home, or if there was a need for something that I did not consider when leaving the house. It's the most simple thing to do and helps so much!

That is all I have for you today! Let me know if you have done of these Hacks or plan to do them! I would love to chat about it!

Thank you so much for reading!

Susana!
